Position Summary:
The UCI Human Resources (HR) enterprise is comprised of three unique business units: Medical Center, Health Sciences, and Main Campus. UCI HR’s vision is to empower people to drive a culture of innovation, learning, and service that requires us to enable the success of individuals within the UCI community and those who aspire to join. The HR enterprise consists of the Partnership for Strategy and Innovation (Partnership), People Services, Health HR, Campus HR, and the Office of the Chief HR Officer/Vice Chancellor. The Partnership serves as a strategic center responsible for planning and implementing strategic initiatives across the entire UCI HR enterprise. People Services is a trusted partner in providing administrative support functions that allow the UCI community to focus on their core functions to accomplish the UCI mission of teaching, research, public service, and patient care. We are seeking emerging HR professionals that are looking to diversify their experience and support UCI HR enterprise in a variety of areas. The HR Representative is a full-time rotation position within HR, supporting all areas of HR – Health HR, Campus HR, People Services, HR Partnership for Strategy & Innovation (Communications, Engagement, Performance Excellence, Talent Development, Talent Strategy, Total Rewards, Workforce Planning). HR Representatives represent the agile workforce of HR, supporting the different areas of HR at the most critical times. Assignments will include onboarding functions during peak periods, HRBP support, recruitment support, special initiative support, HR signature event support, and a variety of other assignments within HR. The incumbent will apply professional human resources, organization policies and procedures to provide guidance to supervisors and managers to resolve a variety of human resources issues of moderate scope and complexity.

Required:
Preferred: 2+ years of experience working in a Human Resources
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations; demonstrates organizational skills and problem-solving skills. Has working knowledge of other areas of HR. Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures and knowledge of functional area. Basic knowledge of human resources policies and programs, and how they affect other organizational policies and procedures. Knowledge of a human resources management system (HRMS), and / or other related business software programs and systems. Proficient in communicating clearly and effectively verbally and in writing and in integrating information in the completion of assignments. Demonstrated ability to handle difficult or volatile situations / individuals effectively.
Special Conditions Required:
This position may be required to report at different work sites between the campus in Irvine and medical center in Orange. The incumbent must be able to provide their own means of transportation to/from work locations.
