The Director of Compliance Professional Services implements an effective compliance program to prevent illegal, unethical or improper conduct. Responsible for educating Temple physicians as well as other support staff in coding and billing compliance, maintaining the effectiveness of the TUHS Compliance Program, and serving as the key corporate resource for the requirements of the Medicare and Medicaid programs for the payment of fills for physician services. Develop, initiate, maintain and revise policies and procedures for the general operation of the TUP Compliance Program and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical or improper conduct; Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; Monitor the Departmental routine audits, re-audits of physicians, new physician audits and outlier audits of identified risk areas; Oversee the Compliance Education program including annual departmental workshops, re-education for physicians and Compliance training for all employees involved in the delivery of professional services.
Education
· Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience (Required)
Licenses and Certifications
· CCS - Certified Coding Specialist (Required) or CPC - Certified Professional Coder (Required) or RHIA - Reg Health Information Admin (Required) or RHIT - Reg Health Information Tech (Required)
Experience
· 8 years experience in medical coding (physician), billing and coding auditing, compliance, clinical documentation and coding training (Required)
· General Experience in a supervisory role in a hospital setting (Required)
