Cleveland-Cliffs, Coshocton Works, located in East Central Ohio, a stainless finishing operation and one of the nation’s leading producers of flat rolled stainless steel, has an immediate opening for an Electrical Project Engineer at our Coshocton Works facility. The Electrical Project Engineer will be responsible for plant utilities including incoming power and distribution, assisting maintenance, troubleshooting, production unit enhancements, and capital projects. This position will direct maintenance, contractor, and service personnel.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Identify process improvements and/or critical equipment/facility replacements as necessary for the facilities/processes to produce a quality and competitive commercial product.
Manage projects including small minor equipment upgrades to large capital investments.
Develop and implement project engineering activities in connection with physical and technical aspects of plant operations, maintenance, facility improvements, and capital equipment additions.
Conduct technical investigations, studies, problem review, new and proposed equipment, materials, processes and facilities and provide sound engineering evaluations and recommendations of proposed actions.
Manage contractors, outside engineers, and vendors to aid in the implementation of projects; develop cost, benefits, plans for installations, and training needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
Ability to coordinate and execute a multitude of projects with minimal supervision within the allotted time and budget.
Excellent communication, analytical and time management skills.
Strong computer skills.
Experience with all types of motor control systems. D.C. motors, MG set controls, SCR controls, A.C. VFD.
Allen Bradley ControlLogix programming experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
5 years of experience in a steelmaking facility or similar heavy manufacturing environment.
Drive tuning and installation experience.
Experience with Reliance AutoMax and Allen Bradley control platforms.
PLC design, programming, installation, and troubleshooting experience.
GE programming experience with Series 6, 9070, 9030, and RXi.
