Job Description Job Description SUMMARY Prepares documents, creates and maintains records, answers phones, and responds to inquiries and needs of the Transportation Department. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Prepares route sheets, bus rosters, payroll reports, memos, letters, and various documents; Compiles, copies, sorts, updates and maintains department files, inventory, mailing and database systems, either manually or using a computer; Types, formats, proofreads, and edits correspondence; Computes, records, and proofreads data and other information such as records or reports; Reviews files, records, and other documents to obtain information to respond to requests; Maintains records and reports of fuel consumption; maintain emergency forms and bus attendance; Answers telephones, take and route messages, answer radio calls and follow specified procedures; Handles inquires and concerns of parents, providers, drivers, riders, mechanics, and the general public in a courteous and responsible manner; Completes schedules, manage calendars, and arrange appointments as directed; Opens, sorts, and routes incoming mail, answer correspondence, and prepare outgoing mail; Operates office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners, facsimile machines, voice mail systems, and personal computers; Assist transportation staff with basic computer entry tasks; Performs other duties as assigned
