JLS Job Requirement for: Technical Support Specialist Location: Arlington, VA Job Description: Serves as a Tier I and II Technical Support Specialist Identify, diagnose, and resolve problems Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers Observe, analyze, and report data; and when appropriate makes necessary repairs to equipment Utilize engineering drawings, manuals and other related documentation in the performance of assigned tasks Qualifications: BS in Computer science (or related) 2+ years of experience No Degree - 6+ years of experience Experience and/or familiarity with one or more of the following: Solaris, AIX, Red Hat, IRIS, Microsoft Windows (2000, XP, 2003), VMware, SharePoint, Citrix Experience monitoring system health and status Experience documenting problems and resolutions through a tracking program Experience and/or familiarity with one or more of the following shell scripts: Bourne, C, Krone, Bash, Perl, etc Experience and/or familiarity with one or more of the following: TCP/IP, Cisco switches and routers, VLAN, firewall, VPN, storage arrays (RAID, Blades), etc
