A postdoctoral position is immediately available within Dr. Keriann Backus’s laboratory in in the Department of Biological Chemistry at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
We are seeking a motivated individual interested in electrophysiology, biochemistry, structural biology, or pharmacology. Our lab focuses on 1) molecular biology. 2) high throughput screening, 3) mass spectrometry-based proteomics, 4) redox biology, 5) cancer biology, 6) systems biology, and 6) drug resistance mechanisms.
We utilize a multidisciplinary approach including mass spectrometry-based proteomics, biochemistry, cutting edge techniques in proteomics, molecular biology, and high-throughput cell-based assays.

Qualifications
1) A recent doctorate degree in the field of biochemistry, cancer biology, cell biology, systems biology, computational biology, or related disciplines
2) Ability to work in highly inclusive teams and strong work ethics
Responsibilities
1) In this role, the appointee will be actively involved in multiple projects, immerse themself at one of the world’s leading institutions for biomedical research, while learning skills in drug discovery, redox biology, mechanistic biochemistry, redox biology, genomics, and proteomics.
2) The appointee will also have the opportunity to strengthen their leadership and collaboration skills by interacting with graduate and undergraduate students, writing fellowship applications, and assisting with manuscript preparation.
