REQUIRED
• Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering or Welding Engineering Technology, or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing.
• Proficient with supporting engineering with weldment design.
• Ability to read and interpret complex design drawings & related weld symbols, WPS/WPQ, etc.
• Proficient with AWS A2.4 welding symbols.
• Proficient with NDT methods (VT, MT, PT, RT, UT) and how they are applied to structural fabrication.
• Ability to interpret structural welding codes (AWS D1.1, D1.2, and D1.6).
• Familiarity with welding processes used in structural fabrication (GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SAW, etc.).
DESIRED
• 5-7 years of manufacturing experience with small and large fabricated components.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
• Training or hands-on experience in Operational Excellence fundamentals, including 6S, Standard Work, and Visual Management.
• Experience in basic Quality aspects; 8D, first pass yield, FTQ, investigations, FMEA, Lean, Six Sigma, NC/CAPA, etc.
• Familiarity with typical structural materials, including carbon and alloy steels, stainless steels, and aluminum.
• Knowledge of mechanical and metallurgical testing.
• Use of standard Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
