Purpose & Scope:
The Credentials Specialist assumes the responsibility of assisting the Director of the Medical Staff Office in processing of initial applications and interim privileges; provides and assures continuity of information between medical staff committees/departments and hospital departments to achieve an ideal customer sensitive service and communicates to the Director the concerns of the practitioners relative to Medical Staff Services
Education:
Associate degree is preferred.
Experience:
Two years of secretarial experience in a healthcare setting or one year of credentialing experience in a medical staff office setting is preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
None.

May encounter patients, family members, co-workers, and visitors under all conditions, e.g. hostile and/or emotionally upset.
