Who are we looking for?
GHD is recruiting for a Western US Business Group Leader-Construction to lead and grow our US Construction business. GHD’s US construction business generates an annual gross revenue of approximately $50 million with a current staff count of over 70 professionals. In this role, you will manage the Western US construction business and multiple projects, while overseeing and developing construction personnel and maintaining strong relationships and communication with clients and consultants.
This is a leadership position reporting directly to the US construction GM. This is a great opportunity for career growth and will give you the chance to continue to grow our US Construction business throughout the Western United States.
This opportunity is a remote (Home) based position. However, if the candidate is close to a GHD main office then a Hybrid type schedule would be preferred. The candidate can be based in the Western US close to a regional airport.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Lead business development, with a specific focus on clients throughout the Western US.
- Direct pricing, scoping, and win strategies for new work
- Mentor team members; provide direction and training as needed to team members
- Lead recruitment of new staff
- Act as Project Manager or Project Director on appropriate projects
- Attracts strategic hires for the Business Group to develop the business
- Extensive knowledge of construction equipment and utilization
- Risk management
- Subcontractor coordination and scheduling.
- Drive financial performance. Monitor and manage backlog, utilization, DSO, variances, and markups.
- Development of job/scope of work packages, budgets, and progress
- Managing the allocation of people to projects in agreement with the Project Manager
- Travel is required. Can be up to 50% at some times.
What you will bring to the team:
- 10-15+ years of experience in within the environmental remediation, civil, Mining, and/or geotechnical construction industry; leadership experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills both written & oral
- Flexible and able to meet challenging deadlines
- Strong organization is required with the ability prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- OSHA 40 hour HAZWOPER certification or ability to obtain it
- Strong business development, proposal preparation, and marketing skills
- Flexible and able to meet challenging deadlines
- A self-starter with sound judgment and decisiveness

Salary Range-150k to 180k
