Job Summary
Contribute in interpreting regulations and assisting internal & external stakeholders with product stewardship and regulatory compliance. Support new product evaluation, including health and safety labeling. Authoring and the distribution of Safety Data Sheet’s, labels and regulatory information. Duties include responsibility for assigned region(s) and product evaluations. Additionally, this person will actively participate in the enhancement of the Product Stewardship Team.
Key Responsibilites
- Responsible for the creation, review of regionally compliant Safety Data Sheet’s and Label text.
- Perform global evaluations for raw materials, paint, and resin products.
- Assist in the development of global strategies and compliance programs for raw materials and product evaluations.
- Assist with the registration of products and chemicals
- Respond to external and internal regulatory questions.
- Actively participate in the development and implementation of product stewardship Standard Operating Procedures.
- Participate with direct manager to generate and submit data, to comply with regional, federal, state or local requirements.
- Participate as required and represent Benjamin Moore at trade association meetings, advisory groups and related activities.
Requiresd Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Chemistry, or Occupational, Public Health and Safety, Toxicology, Environmental Science, or a related field is required
- 3+ years of experience in product safety, compliance, chemical manufacturing.
- A strong knowledge of domestic and international chemical regulations is desirable.
- A strong knowledge of Safety Data Sheet authoring and product labeling is desirable.
- Experience with regulatory compliance tool and systems is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills are required.
- Knowledge of paint or chemical processing is desirable.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-changing regulatory environment.
- Motivated, conscientious and self-development oriented.
- Able to collaborate and communicate with cross-functional teams.
- Experience working in a team environment is desirable.
- Proficient in typical office software is desirable
