Supports the overall team and acts as a mentor to others in resolving incidents.
Responsibilities
Performs inspections, maintenance, and repairs of the Access Control System (ACS)and Video Management System (VMS) system of the Data Centers
Performs preventative maintenance on infrastructure and Security devices
Assists Team Lead in coordinating projects and maintenance requests
Completion of site logs and data-gathering for permits, such as MOPs and scripts
Responds quickly to all on-site incidents and acts as required
Will provide quick support to on-site staff when applicable
Able to manage multiple, complex work requests simultaneously
Effectively collaborates with internal and external departments and/or contractors
Able to provide input and support to their peers in other regions, states, or countries
Once up to speed, will be able to manage their own workload in an efficient and professional manner
Must be able to adapt and respond quickly to failed devices and triage multiple issues as needed
Must be willing to respond/travel locally between sites as required
Work Orders
Supports work requests for security installations, de-installations, and customer installs
Handles non-standard work requests for security custom orders both internally and externally. Must be able to coordinate with contractors or vendors as needed.
Supports reporting requirements and audit requests
Develops and distributes Request for Proposals (RFPs) to vendors for security infrastructure projects requiring multiple bidders
Able to maintain and repair auxiliary equipment and machines to avoid/minimize downtime
Will support the troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of the Site’s security equipment
Incident Management
Responds to on-site security incidents and events, including failures, problems and delays by using deep understanding of standard operating procedures to solve for
Completes reporting and root cause analysis relating to skilled security incidents.
Is a skilled specialist on the security incident decision matrix and reports security incident declarations with the Equinix Operations Center (EOC); works with stakeholders for potential Internal Incident Report (IIR)/Post Incident Report (PIR) response
Facility / Infrastructure Maintenance
Supports skilled security related issues for local security requiring considerable judgment in responding to and resolving issues and/or condition reports for the ACS (Access Control System) and VMS (Video Management Systems), in accordance with policies and procedures
Is a specialist on preventative-maintenance for security infrastructure, according to the standard operating procedures, for on-time and accurate security patching and updates
Supports critical security infrastructure operations
Participates in customer-facing support requests such as: negotiated audits, security custom orders and cage-build initiation
Coordinates asset inventory for security IP address management such as: tracking and distributing IP addresses for security equipment
Vendor Management
Supports security vendor work associated to customer-facing security buildouts and internal security infrastructure for highly skilled requests
Coordinates with site management team to interface with third party auditors to assist in providing information needed to fulfill auditory requirements, both internal and external
Site Administration
Has deep understanding of security processes and procedures and quality control initiatives to ensure deployments meet published standards
Supports the team in recommending new methods and procedures on new assignments
Analyzes and maintains security drawings and site-specific supporting documentation
Collaboration
Assists security stakeholders to support skilled maintenance activities that require considerable judgement
Supports the development of training initiatives on security policies, processes and initiatives for data center personnel
Supports cross-functional teams, and coordinates security installations that may impact facility infrastructures
Has deep knowledge of security policies and procedures and can successfully review and participate in multiple project initiatives
