Summary:
Responsible for overseeing all sponsored program contract and budget review, negotiation, and administration for the Office of Sponsored Programs. Ensures all contract budgets are developed in accordance with approved billing Coverage Analysis, if applicable, and ensures all relevant documents are consistent to ensure compliance after contract execution. Facilitates the financial management associated with planning and developing, all associated sponsored agreements. Primary responsibilities include evaluating all applicable documents, e.g. contracts, study protocols, etc., and developing accurate internal and external budgets. Duties include meeting with personnel in a collaborative effort to identify and quantify pertinent information impacting contract and financial items or changes, as well as directly negotiate applicable contracts and budgets with external stakeholders and collaborators. Assists, educates, and advises physicians and staff to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local and institutional regulations and policies.
Formal Education Required:
a. Bachelor degree.
b. Graduate degree, preferred.
Experience & Training Required:
a. Two (2) years of contract and/or budget negotiation experience.
b. Experience in healthcare related environment, preferred.
c. Experience working with clinical trial contracting preferred.
d. Research experience preferred.
e. Lawson experience, preferred.
Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
a. Computer skills.
b. Microsoft Office applications and financial systems.
c. Strong oral and written communication skills required.
d. Ability to think strategically, exert influence, negotiate, work across boundaries, meet deadlines, and deliver results.
