Four-Day Work Week (Monday to Thursday) 34 hours for Full Time Position
Sr. GIS Specialist - Brimfield, Monday Thursday (8:00 am to 5:00 pm).
Summary: Work with local governments and non-profit public utilities to develop, populate, and maintain GIS databases. Create and deliver formal training programs, provide on-going technical assistance, and promote incorporation of GIS technologies into operations and planning. Research and pilot new service delivery methods, technology and software. Assist in deployment, training and technical support for Asset Management software.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide on-going technical assistance and training to communities and other clients to utilize, maintain, and expand the GIS program. Promote new applications and further integration of GIS into daily operations and planning.
2. Develop, prepare and deliver formal training, including classes approved for operator contact hours.
3. Serve as an Administrator for ArcGIS Online portals and other online or mobile application services.
4. Serve as a GIS project leader working with GIS staff and local government or utility staff to collect data, populate the GIS, review and make final revisions.
5. Program, operate and troubleshoot Global Positioning System (GPS) units and provide training to others within the department.
6. Up to 20% of the time annually, initiates, conducts and leads GIS staff in field work using GPS equipment to collect the geographic coordinates and record other attributes about all above ground assets.
7. Assist GIS Manager in reviewing, testing and revising project specific QA/QC procedures and administration of Coops and Contracts.
8. Prepare finished map products and reports for the communities, and ensure metadata is completed and updated correctly.
9. Assist communities in researching, selecting and procuring GPS, mobile and computer equipment.
10. Develop, create, and modify web and mobile software applications, and implement add-on templates or programs to better utilize GIS data for utility and local government functions.
11. Use basic functions within ArcGIS Server; provide training and oversight to other staff in using the ArcGIS Server software.
12. Other duties and responsibilities as directed by supervisor.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education:
Bachelors Degree in GIS Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Surveying, Planning, Geography, Information Technology, Environmental Studies, Forestry, or other related fields with significant GIS-related coursework, and training in the use of ESRI ArcGIS software products.
Experience:
Three to five years of general work experience, with at least one year of experience in a dedicated GIS position which may include graduate assistantships and internships. At least four years of experience working with MS Word, Excel, and four years using ESRI ArcGIS software.

- Initial and periodic Motor Vehicle Records checks, maintain a valid drivers license, and maintain a safe driving record.
- Must have insured, dependable transportation available for daily use.
- Must submit to state and/or federal criminal checks.
