The UCSF Bayfront Operating Room (OR) consists of 14 surgical suites and 2 procedural rooms with 23 hours surgical stay facility. Our primary focus is multidisciplinary team-based approach and staffing, advanced technology, including integrated suites and robotic surgery. All patient care team members are responsible to meet patient needs, demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills, and foster a harmonious work environment in which high-quality patient care and customer service are consistently provided. The AA 3: Provides front desk management for patients, family members, unit staff, and physicians as well as administrative support services for clinical operations of the Perioperative Units. Performs a variety of activities including clerical, data collection and report preparation as well as procedure/staff scheduling for both campuses. Responsible for all payroll functions for all perioperative units including aspects of scheduling and staffing. Coordinate scheduling with physician offices and Perioperative leadership. Coordinate technology maintenance (printers, endo-pro workstations, phones, fax machines, etc.), clinical engineering issues, and facilities issues. The incumbent must have the ability to work independently, perform and coordinate multiple tasks, set priorities appropriately, identify problems, escalate, and institute appropriate follow through.
Covered under University series concept / job specification for classification 4722. Under general direction works on operational and/or procedural assignments that require the exercise of considerable discretion and independent judgment. Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions. Determines methods and procedures on new assignments.

- Familiarity with Epic and scheduling systems
- Previous procedure scheduling experience
- Competent in working with Excel and Word programs.
- Knowledge of medical terminology strongly preferred.
- Graduation from high school and two to three years of related clerical experience; or an equivalent
- combination of education and experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment in handling sensitive and confidential issues with
- discretion.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work independently.
- Skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel
- This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations.
