Job Summary
Special Education Department’s Vision:

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Under the general supervision of the Director of Special Education and the direction of an assigned certificated teacher, the Special Education Aide for Mod/Severe:
- Assists in providing instruction and care to individual or small groups of students with nonsevere/severe physical disabilities and/or cognitive delays, monitors and reports student progress regarding behavior and performance, and performs a variety of other instructional support duties as assigned.
- Assists severely handicapped students within the Special Education program with personal needs (tube feeding, suctioning, toileting, diapering, positioning and/or mobility, social skills, etc.) to maintain their health, comfort, cleanliness and safety.
This position is 7.5 hours per day, 7:30am-3:30, five days a week. This position includes paid holidays and paid sick/vacation days. Medical, dental, and life insurance.
Requirements / Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
One-year experience working with children in an educational, childcare, or special education setting
