The Middle School Teacher upholds Catholic values and supports students in their Christian formation by exemplifying Catholic living, both within and beyond the classroom. This faculty member is entrusted with leading the classroom through providing instruction tailored to meet individual student needs and fostering an optimal learning environment. Recognizing the vital importance of student growth and achievement, the aide collaborates with the teacher to address each student’s unique progress and requirements. Teachers are expected to implement the school’s mission and philosophy, adhere to the policies of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and the guidelines outlined in the staff and parent handbooks of Holy Name of Mary, and comply with directives from school administration.
This candidate plays a key role in fostering a faith-filled environment and facilitating student learning under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
General Responsibilities:
Encourages student growth, achievement, and self-esteem.
Provides individual and small group instruction, completing tasks as directed by the teacher.
Helps cultivate a learning-conducive atmosphere.
Ensures the safety and well-being of each child as assigned.
Demonstrates flexibility in the daily school environment.
Adheres to the Code of Ethical Conduct.
Complies with all workplace policies, including but not limited to employee conduct standards, anti-harassment policy, electronic communications policy, and social media policy.
Integrates technology assessment tools.
Maintains an effective classroom environment to balance discipline and foster a love for learning.
Collaborates effectively with all school personnel.
Performs additional duties as requested by the principal.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher. Credential preferred
Practicing Catholic with general knowledge and understanding of the Catholic Church preferred
Confirms knowledge of Holy Name of Mary School
Displays ability to communicate clearly and effectively
Exhibits knowledge of school operations
Complies with guidelines established for blood borne pathogen, CPR, and first aid training
Displays proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and computerized software
Displays proficiency and ability to integrate software
Establishes rapport, works independently, and maintains strict confidentiality and professional ethics
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
