Job Description
Essential Functions
- Highest level of proficiency with use of all x-ray equipment in all offices ( CR and DR Digital x-ray equipment)
- Super user for equipment
- Ensures all new technologists are fully trained on equipment
- Advanced proficiency with use of PACS image management systems
- Super user for system
- Creates and edits exams as needed
- Corrects any exam issues
- Contacts and interacts with PACS admins with any technical issues
- Main contact point for ordering medical supplies
- Delegates and trains supply ordering to senior level technologists
- Notifies EVP of any supply chain disruptions/issues
- Handles additional special ordering
- Secondary supplier orders
- Special item orders
- Ensures State mandated X-ray equipment QA program is maintained across all offices
- Able to perform all State mandated QA tests on the timeline required for maintenance of state licensure
- Trains senior level staff as needed to help perform QA tests as needed
- Ensures that all offices are in QA compliance per State guidelines
- Contacts and liaises with State approved Physicists for yearly review and testing of x-ray equipment
- Advanced knowledge of EMR/EHR
- Reviews doctor schedules to ensure appropriate team coverage
- Confirms that appointment details accurately indicate if 3rd party imaging has been done and that any imaging reports are scanned to charts
- Main contact point with troubleshooting of equipment and contacting technical support
- Contacts IT and 3rd party support teams as necessary for all x-ray equipment and software issues
- Contacts IT and/or 3rd party support teams for any necessary PACS/network related issues
- Troubleshoots and/or contacts 3rd party support teams for issues related to the autoclave/sterilization equipment
- Troubleshoots and/or contacts IT with any PC issues related to X-ray department performance
- Ensures training of new technologists
- Creates and maintains training manuals for all x-ray staff
- Cultivates continued job knowledge growth of all x-ray staff
- Ensures all x-ray staff are meeting and maintaining required certifications and licensures
- Main contact point for medical waste pickup and disposal
- Ensures all sharps and medical waste containers are prepared for scheduled pick-up
- Ensures that senior level technologists have adequate supply of empty sharps bins for offices
- Informs EVP of any outstanding issues with the general maintenance of the medical waste accounts with Stericycle
- Creates monthly scheduling for X-ray team
- Ensures coverage needs are met for all offices each week/month
- Communicates with front office managers/supervisors, Doctors, and EVP
- Adjusts and confirms any technologist PTO requests
- Confirms with EVP if PTO requests can be accommodated
- Ensures offices are in compliance with state-mandated radiation dosimeter badge monitoring
- Disseminates new badges and collects and sends in old badges for ongoing exposure monitoring.
