Job Description Summary |
The student coordinator in Academic and Career Services will work closely with various student services departments. They will interact daily with students/parents/faculty and staff. The office is looking for someone to support staff in daily tasks, special projects, and deliver excellent customer service. |
Specific Duties |
The student coordinator will assist with clerical tasks such as:
- answering phones
- making appointments
- greeting and assisting walk-ins
- managing student records
- general office work.
As well as:
- Maintain other student confidentiality at all times.
- Utilize University’s student database (Banner, Handshake, and Big Interview) to provide information and make changes.
- Assist with management of student records
- Answering general questions about career, academic advising, and registration
- Assist with management marketing via Canva

Minimum Qualifications |
Student must be/have:
-
MINIMUM of 10 hours/week (20 hrs max. allowed per HR/CA law)
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Conscientious person who considers personal commitments and responsibilities seriously
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Strong organizational skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Willingness to learn new skills
- Must be a current ULV student

Preferred Qualifications |
Academic and Career Services would prefer applicants to be/have:
- First or second year TUG main campus students
- Office experience preferred, not required
- Customer service experience preferred, not required
- Knowledge of designing flyers in Canva

Benefits Summary |
Employees are eligible for the following benefits:
One hour of Paid Sick Leave for every 30 hours worked, with a maximum accrual of 24 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year and capped at 48 hours.
University of La Verne Defined Contribution Retirement Plan – can contribute employee voluntary contributions, excluding wages derived from federal work study funds.
In accordance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), employees who work an average of 30 or more hours per week, will be eligible for medical coverage through the University of La Verne.
Covered under the University of La Verne Workers Compensation Insurance. |
