MITRE’s Treasury, Economics and Commerce Division, P813 Department supports multiple sponsors at the U.S. Department of Treasury, including programs involving securing US Currency at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, illicit finance, economics, financial regulation, financial systems, and cybersecurity. Roles and Responsibilities:
- Plan, review, and execute activities concerned with the full life cycle of quality and quality assurance engineering, including development, testing, application, review, evaluation, and maintenance of Quality Standards.
- Review Quality Standards, e.g. documentation, policies, procedures, and graphics and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Develop and implement Quality Standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
- Define and develop Quality Standards for receiving, in-process, and final inspection in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Devise sampling procedures, and design and develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
- Travel to production facilities to observe operations and work collaboratively in multi-team environments to identify, develop, and evaluate Quality Standards.
- Review and evaluate complex in-process rejections and assist in implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Interface with customers, vendors, and sponsors to identify, evaluate and resolve Quality Standards issues or problems.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- 5+ years of experience working with Quality Engineering, Quality Standards or Quality Management, ideally in a production work environment.
- Ability to travel within CONUS for up to a week at a time and 4 trips per year.
- Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for BEP suitability.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BEP-High suitability.
- Expertise in technical graphics development.
- Experience and demonstrated skills in technical writing.
- Experience in manufacturing and production, preferably in printing operations.
