Job Description
The Comcast Cooperative Educational Program (Co-op) immerses students into the daily operations of a contemporary media and technology company while working side-by-side with Comcast’s top innovators. Designed for students whose curriculum allows for a cooperative learning track, the co-op becomes an integral part of the Comcast team working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units. Throughout the experience, there is opportunity for exposure to mentorship and professional development while having some fun along the way.
The Political Affairs department is responsible for all political activities compliance for the Comcast Enterprise including: campaign finance, lobbying, gifts and entertainment, conflict of interests, and pay-to-play. The department also manages fundraising for and administration of the Comcast's Political Action Committees (COMPAC), which includes political disbursement processing, PAC solicitation, and the administration of a PAC Match Program.
Co-op will assist with all aspects of Comcast’s Political Action Committees (COMPAC). Position requires self-driven candidates who demonstrate a strong desire to actively participate in the political process.
Co-op responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist in the administration of an over $3.2 million annual program
Prepare and mail letters/checks to charitable organizations and corresponding donors
Maintain accurate recordkeeping
Maintain charity database while updating as needed
Contact charities to obtain tax-exempt certifications
Correspond extensively with COMPAC donors regarding pledge information and PAC Match
Assist in writing/editing internal communications that reaches over 15,000 management level employees
Support Political Affairs staff as needed
Strong interest in the political process
Exceptional analytical and organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment
Strong interest in the telecommunications, cable and media industries
Effective communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal)
Ability to work on a team but can work self-directed as well
Preferred Majors: History, Mathematics, Political Science, Business Administration, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Finance
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from Drexel University, with a cooperative learning track.
Available to work 40 hours per week for 6 months starting September 23, 2024 through March 28, 2025.
Available to report in-person to the work location provided above.
3.0 minimum cumulative GPA preferred.
