Job Description Summary |
The Academic Success Center (ASC) supports the efforts of La Verne undergraduate and graduate students to excel in their coursework at the University. The services offered in the Center include one-on-one, online, and group tutoring, academic coaching, classroom support, and academic workshops. ASC Office Assistants will help coordinate services and ensure that students have a positive experience at the ASC. |
Specific Duties |
- Aiding students and faculty with ASC resources; scheduling tutoring sessions and referring students to helpful resources and study guides.
- Assisting the ASC Director and /or ASC professional staff with day to day operations.
- Walking through the ASC periodically to check-in with students and offer assistance if needed, tidy the ASC workspace, and maintain order in the Center.
- Adhering to ASC policies, procedures, and philosophies; Carrying out all ASC obligations in a responsible and professional manner; Responding quickly and clearly to communications from the ASC staff.
- Attend and actively participate in all mandatory trainings and meetings, including fall and spring orientation; weekly small group meetings;
- Other duties as assigned by the Director, Associate Director and ASC professional staff.

- Communication skills: interact effectively with others, both written and verbally .
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Project management skills and accountability
- Must be a current ULV student

Preferred Qualifications |
- Familiar with the function of and services offered by the Libraries & Learning Commons and the Academic Success Center.

Benefits Summary |
Employees are eligible for the following benefits:
One hour of Paid Sick Leave for every 30 hours worked, with a maximum accrual of 24 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year and capped at 48 hours.
University of La Verne Defined Contribution Retirement Plan – can contribute employee voluntary contributions, excluding wages derived from federal work study funds.
In accordance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), employees who work an average of 30 or more hours per week, will be eligible for medical coverage through the University of La Verne.
Covered under the University of La Verne Workers Compensation Insurance. |
