CLASS DESCRIPTION
Under supervision, will ensure access and transportation to and from medical appointments for Medicaid/Medical Assistance recipients via telephonically. This is a Call Center environment with a high call volume and fast paced work environment.
May interact with individuals, families, medical staff, and various health professionals to ensure timely access to health care. Will work closely with medical providers, primary care teams and other agencies to improve patient care.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Completes eligibility letters of notifications and mails to clients based on state and federal compliance; tracks and maintains mail log; answers phones and provides community partners with information to engage service compliantly; liaise with community partners to resolve transportation issues and/or initiate the complaint process.
- Resolve Medical Assistance clients transport problems by contacting vendor to obtain trip status. Approve transports to return for clients erroneously not present. Complete complaint forms; and submit to Program Management for follow-up (e.g. Compliance Officer; Program Supervisor; Deputy Director and Director).
- Verify transport eligibility utilizing the Statewide Eligibility Verification System (EVS). Collects verification data of scheduled transports by directly contacting physicians, clinics, nursing facilities, and hospitals to confirm appointments as required by the State’s program requirements.
- Track transports data for reporting requirements to MDH.
- Assist with the completion of various programmatic documentation, data entry; and tracking as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: Have a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
AND
EXPERIENCE: Have two years’ work experience with knowledge of medical terminology knowledge and or the ability to quickly learn.
