The Harris County Engineering Internship Program (HCEIP), led by Dr. Santa Maria, Chief Administrative Officer connects and designs internship program for youth aged 18 and over pursuing post-secondary opportunities. Through HCEIP, students will immerse themselves in local government programs, policies, and issues as they build professional skills for their future careers. HCEIP is committed to recruiting students from diverse educational, economic, racial, and ethnic backgrounds that reflect the diversity of the residents Harris County serves.
Harris County Engineering department ensures that youth experience leadership training, professional development through real-world work experiences.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Interns will be fully immersed in existing teams and be responsible for various tasks to assist project teams with field visits, design support, customer service, research, community outreach, administrative and project management functions.
- The program will include mentoring and professional development opportunities.
