Job Purpose:
Our Transportation Supervisor will be responsible for directly supervising and coordinating activities of transportation and vehicle operators.
Job Responsibilities:
\u25CF Manage on a day-to-day basis the transportation of goods and supplies using existing procedures; review and recommend improvements to procedures to ensure on-time delivery of goods and supplies.
\u25CF Provide operational support by performing a range of route activities using existing systems and protocols.
\u25CF Gather and summarize data and prepare documents and reports using a variety of computer applications such as Microsoft Office.
\u25CF Supervise and lead a team performing routine work.
\u25CF Design own monthly schedule and, if necessary, assign work to others in order to speed up office workflow and ensure high-priority tasks get done.
\u25CF Maintain a culture of safety that follows the organization"s Health, Safety and Environmental (HS&E) policies to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to oneself and others in the workplace. Instruct the team in safe working methods and escalate serious issues as appropriate.
\u25CF Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization"s policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure.
\u25CF Perform additional duties as required.
Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Salary Range: 79k-88K annually
\u25CF Must be available to work day shift
\u25CF Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills including but not limited to performance management (employee evaluations, discipline, corrective action, coaching) and conducting interviews.
\u25CF Ability to develop proficiency with company computer system is essential.
\u25CF Ability to motivate and develop direct reports.
\u25CF Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
\u25CF Strong planning, organization, and customer relations\u2019 skills are required.
\u25CF Experience and thorough understanding of warehouse, delivery, traffic operations and systems within a distribution setting, as well as government regulations (e.g., DOT, OSHA, HazMat, etc.).
\u25CF Experience of supervising and directing people and other resources to achieve specific end results within limited timeframes.
\u25CF Experienced practitioner able to work unsupervised.
Work Experience:
\u25CF 5-10 years of related experience of successful management or supervisory experience within a large or national organization strongly preferred.
Education:
\u25CF High School Diploma/GED
\u25CF Associate/Bachelor"s Degree Preferred
Working Conditions:
The work environment for this position includes:
\u25CF Regularly working in outside weather conditions, exposure to extremes of temperature, visibility, wet and/or humid conditions and vibrations.
\u25CF Exposure to loud noise.
\u25CF Exposure to dust, mechanical hazards, moving objects, and moving vehicles.
Physical Requirements:
The physical requirements listed below are representative of those needed to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
\u25CF Ability to lift, twist and carry 50 \u2013 75 pounds, manipulate (push and pull) up to 160 pounds of product with material handling equipment, and skids weighing up to 2,000 pounds utilizing pallet jack.
\u25CF Walking/Standing - walk throughout the warehouse to complete customer orders. Stand when operating order picker or reach truck equipment and when operating cutter.
\u25CF Sitting - sit only when driving sit-down material handling equipment.\u00A0
\u25CF Lifting - lift items weighing a few ounces up to 150 pounds with assistance.
\u25CF Stooping - performed when filling orders or putting away products assigned to floor level locations. May bend at the waist.
\u25CF Kneeling - kneel when filling orders or putting away products assigned to floor level locations.
