Position summary
T-Mobile is America’s supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Sr. Designers, User Experience located in Reston, VA will create, evaluate and modify prototypes to support evolving hardware and software application development.
Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Develop and apply software design/usability processes in the investigation of technical problems.
• Provide product usability, evaluation and support to product development teams, including the analysis and investigation of applications/systems, and including tactile methods, visual graphics, web, multimedia, voice response and conversational user interaction.
• Develop user profiles, with emphasis on human error control, display issues, visual interaction, physical manipulation and task and objective analyses.
• Assist in developing design concept and implementation, providing input on user design considerations.
• Produce specifications describing user requirements and internal structures for product in development.
• Utilize design thinking methodologies and rapid prototyping to arrive at creative, intuitive end-to-end experiences.
• Conduct user research to inform design decisions and evaluate designs.
• Prototype low-fidelity and full-scale experiences design concepts.
• Clearly and effectively communicate ideas, research findings, sketches, and other deliverables to the business and leadership.
• Give and receive constructive feedback and adjust design approach when necessary.
• Work with and collaborate within a cohesive design team and with the larger organization.
Skill requirements:
• Experience (1) Implementing Experience Design, user centered design principles, prototyping, wireframing, competitive analysis, and design strategy, using tools including Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, Sketch, and Invision.
• Experience (2) Engaging in user research, including qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, creating personas and scenarios, and designing user flows and test maps using tools including Qualtrics, Contentsquare, and UserZoom.
• Experience (3) Conducting visual and interaction design by using knowledge and practice of animation, micro-interaction between design elements, and creating cor components and style guides.
• Experience (4) Engaging in user experience strategy, including designing user flows, developing user profiles, analyzing usability metrics, and collaborating with different stakeholders and generating UX roadmaps.
Experience and education requirements:
•PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information, Computer Applications, or related, and three years of relevant work experience.
•ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information, Computer Applications, or related, and five years of relevant work experience.
Telecommuting is permitted, but applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance.
