Job Description Summary |
The Graphic Designer produces engaging and creative graphic designs that turn concepts and ideas into stunning visual representations across print and digital media. Under the guidance of the Director of Creative services within the Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications, this position designs and develops original, high-quality graphic design content to support university goals for the recruitment, retention, and reputation of the university for different audiences including traditional undergraduate, graduate, adult learners, administration, and campus partners. The Graphic Designer works in a fast paced environment to produce multiple projects simultaneously and perform under tight deadlines. This individual is a strategic storyteller that engages, informs, and inspires prospective student and campus constituents far and wide with creative designs that resonate and push the University of La Verne beyond a 55-mile radius. |
Minimum Qualifications |
- Must have a Bachelors degree in graphic design, or related field, or equivalent combination.
- Two years of professional work experience as a designer, multimedia designer, or marketing communications professional.
- Minimum of two years experience with creative concept development, design planning, art/ photo direction , and multimedia design.
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Ability to package files for print production.
- Ability to meet deadlines and stay within project scope and budget in a fast-paced, Deadline driven work environment.
- Ability to follow established processes for editing, reviewing ,and finalizing projects within project management software.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Ability to contribute ideas for marketing campaigns based on insights and brand identity.
- Web and motion design experience.
- Excellent Visual and verbal presentation skills.
