We are currently seeking qualified candidates to fill the role of Broaching Operator at our facility in Barberton, Ohio. The Broaching Operator will operate the broaching machine to broach tube supports, tube sheets, strainer plates and similar products of ferritic and austenitic materials.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Set up work station and operate broaching machine to broach external surfaces of metal work pieces.
- Align machine with work pieces, insert broaching tools and activate machine pulling tools through components broaching openings to specifications/requirements.
- Perform in-process inspection on work to determine quality standards are met and detects machine out-of-tolerance conditions; escalates out-of-tolerance conditions to the team lead and assists with corrections.
- Change worn broach tooling, clean machine, and perform setup on new broach tooling.
- Clean machine work area, components, and pit.
- Deburrs and grinds as required.
- Operate crane and assist with crane moves.
Minimum Qualifications:
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each job duty satisfactorily. - Must have a high school diploma or GED
- A minimum of two (2) years’ machining experience, preferably in a medium-to-heavy manufacturing environment, is preferred
- Must be open and available to working all shifts
- Must be able to read and understand prints, process sheets, written and verbal instructions.
- Must demonstrate ability to use and set up measuring instruments, such as fixed gauges, calipers, and micrometers.
- Must ensure compliance with environmental health and safety policies.
- Must be able to keep detailed records.
- Must be willing to learn and be assisted by other operators on proper operational procedures.
- Must be willing and able to perform housekeeping and other job related duties as assigned.
- Must demonstrate above skills by passing written and practical tests.
- Due to our work with the federal government, U.S. citizenship with no dual citizenship is required.
