Reports to Senior Director, Financial Planning & Analysis
The Apartments Financial Planning & Analysis team leads the annual business plan, quarterly forecasts, monthly financial reporting and portfolio-level analysis for Irvine Company Apartment Communities. The Team works in collaboration with property operations, asset management, development, acquisition, finance and accounting colleagues.
- Lead the completion of annual business plan and quarterly forecasts.
- Manage data validation, plan and forecast reviews, create summary reports for budget variances, occupancy and leasing updates, and operating expenses.
- Work closely with property operations and asset management; provide support and lead communications during the plan and forecast processes.
- Prepare month-end financial reporting with variance analyses and monthly business review presentations.
- Support IT initiatives and internal process improvements.
- Prepare quarterly financial reports, industry benchmarking and business reviews.
- Provide analytical support to leadership, Corporate and divisional clients as requested.
- Manage financial models to support the budgeting process including a focus on process improvement through technology initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, real estate, economics, or related field
- MBA preferred
Experience:
- Minimum six years of experience in corporate planning, real estate finance or analytical role.
- Experience with financial statement analysis and variance analysis to budgets and forecasts.
- Familiar with planning and reporting systems.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrates leadership, critical thinking, curiosity, self-drive, proactiveness, excellent communication skills (verbal and written), strong organization, collaboration, and high standards of accuracy and precision.
- High ownership of work product and dedication and commitment to driving results.
- Expert in Excel, including strong modeling capability.
- Superior communication and time management skills with the ability to work independently.
- Maintain courtesy, diplomacy and a service-oriented mindset with internal and external customers and colleagues.
Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $127,400.00 - $159,900.00
Actual placement within this range may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
