This person works as a team to provide patient food service that is safe, accurate, timely and responsive to the patient’s needs. Food service includes stocking and serving portion controlled hot and cold food, replenishing stations, restocking work stations, assembly, delivery and collection of patient trays. The person maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the work stations and equipment. This position is responsible for providing excellent patient and nursing interactions and is looked upon as the ambassador for the department of Nutrition and Food Services.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

- Two years of college or equivalent
- State of California Food Handler certification or Servsafe certification.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 2 years of customer-facing experience within the food service, hospitality, or retail industries.
- Read, write, follow written or oral instructions, and be understood in English.
- Basic computer skills.
- This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
- Ability to meet physical demands involved with job duties as outlined below.
