Kitchen Aide for Camp Ledgewood
Compensation: $325 per week + room and board
Dates: June 9 to August 6, 2024
The Kitchen Aide Assists with food service operations. They are willing and able to carry out kitchen tasks and accept supervisors directions. Responsible for dish washing, general cleaning and kitchen work.
Major Accountabilities:
- Works with Head Cook and Assistant Cook in preparation, serving and clean-up of meals including but not limited to, dish washing and storing
- Helps to keep kitchen area clean to meet state laws, Girl Scout and ACA standards
- Mops kitchen floor each evening and dining area once weekly
- Stores food deliveries in designated areas
- Keeps storage areas neat
- Washes dishcloths and dishtowels daily
- Posts list of utensils and dishes needed each meal for the hoppers to set the tables
- Fills all pack-out orders after approval of supervisor in a timely manner
- Cleans and returns useable items to proper areas that have been returned from a pack-out
- Reports all incidents/accidents to supervisor immediately
- Responsible for completing and returning all records to the supervisor
- Maintains Girl Scouts of the USA, Girl Scouts of North East Ohio and the American Camping Association standards at all times
- As a member of Girl Scouts of the USA, ensure that diversity and pluralism is embraced and incorporated into the work
- Other duties as needed to conduct a successful program
- Responsible for the welfare, safety, and cleanliness of each individual and camper in unit. Follows and enforces all recommended health guidelines, including handwashing and cleaning/sanitizing as needed.
-Minimum age 14
-Ability to follow directions
-Ability to accept supervision
-Ability to learn to do tasks as assigned
-Successful experience in food service
-Membership in Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA)
-Ability to pay close attention to detail and maintain confidentiality
-Ability to communicate the written and spoken word with tact
-Well disciplined, able to meet deadlines
-Self-starter
-Able to work under pressure of many priorities and deadlines
-Ability to work well as a part of a team
-Knowledge of the Girl Scout program preferred
