Job Summary: Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is the lead key salesperson in an assigned geography. This person is responsible for executing a go-to-market strategy within the Direct Store Delivery (DSD) system as well managing and building strong business relationships with our company Distribution Partners within the region. This position offers a chance to drive the growth and success of the company, within our rapidly growing sales organization.
The is a remote position based in either Cleveland or Cincinnati, Ohio. Established partnerships with various retailers, such as Giant Eagle and Food City preferred. Territory includes 4 states - NY, MA, OH, and KY
Responsibilities:
- Implements sales strategies to deliver annual volume objectives of the region, expanding account and package distribution to maximize sales
- Continuously monitors and reports competitive activities while keeping abreast of market trends
- Monitors the performance of distributors within the assigned territory, identifies issues and resolves them quickly
- Works with distributor personnel and retailers to ensure sales, distribution and merchandising objectives are met
- Rolling out and championing RTDs brand platform across all market segments
- Effectively leverages Field Marketing resources with local retailers and supporting key retailer sales calls with the Director of Sales
- Responds timely to customer inquiries and resolves issues and concerns promptly while keeping customer retention a priority
- Establishes sales budgets for the assigned geography
- Uses the ShelvSpace App daily to record account calls, accomplishments and opportunities
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- BA in Business or Sales Management
- 8+ years of demonstrated successful sales experience growing markets within the Consumer Packaged Goods industry, preferably food/beverage
- Experience working for or with Direct Store Delivery (DSD) Distributors
- Account sales experience is a plus
- Proactive, self-starter with the demonstrated success consistently achieving sales volume, distribution, and profitability goals, regardless of obstacles or circumstances
- Responsive and flexible with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction
- Energetic and optimistic disposition with the ability to positively influence others
- Confident and decisive decision maker.
- Resourceful and innovative problem solver with ability to identify alternative solutions and select the best option
- Competitive and charmingly persistent in nature
- Strong sense of urgency to meet schedules, deadlines, quotas, and performance goals
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Sound financial acumen
- Proficient in MS Office Programs, advanced Excel skills
- Willingness and ability to travel overnight as needed
- Ability to comfortably lift up to 50 pounds
