GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Electrician Technician will perform a variety of electrical craft functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution or utilization of electrical energy. He will work under the direction of the Maintenance Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
In the performance of his job he will encounter: reading, writing, load computations, lifting, pulling, overhead lifting and pulling, climbing stairs and ladders, the use of power trucks, lifts and hand trucks. He must be able to locate, diagnose and repair malfunctions in the electrical systems of equipment using approved electrical practices and electrical diagnostic equipment.
•Install, maintain, and repair electrical portions of plant equipment.
•Install or repair electrical equipment such as; generators, transformers switch boards, breaker boxes, circuit breakers, controllers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, lights and ballasts, or other transmission equipment.
•Work from blue prints, drawings, wire diagrams, schematics, or other specifications in completion of assigned duties.
•Be able to locate, diagnose, and repair malfunctions in the electrical system of equipment.
•Must be able to completely use a variety of electronics, hand tools, measuring equipment and testing equipment in the performance of his job.
•Do standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
•Orders replacement parts or materials as necessary from information obtained from parts manuals, blue prints, and/or maintenance supply catalog.
•Ensure that all work is in accordance with relevant National Electrical Codes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
?Must be proficient in blue print reading, use of wiring diagrams and schematics, use of instructions and parts manuals and have a good working knowledge of shop math.
?Must be able to determine causes of operating errors and deciding what to do to correct it.
?Must be knowledgable of the National Electrical Code, and be able to install equipment, machines and wiring to meet code standards.
