Job Description Summary |
Reporting to the Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations, the primary function of the Associate Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations will be to support the Director in the identification, cultivation, and as appropriate, solicitation of philanthropic support from corporations and private foundations for the University of La Verne. The incumbent will be integral in researching new partnerships with corporations and foundations and stewarding existing relationships with partners/donors. The Associate Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations will be a mission-driven individual, eager to work with individual donors, corporations, and foundations to advance University priorities. He/she will take initiative and have the ability to work independently and collaboratively on tasks. |
Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 3-5 years of fundraising experience, preferably in a higher education setting.
- 3-5 years experience working with corporations and foundations in a development capacity.
- 3-5 years of experience with grant writing and the proposal process for private foundations.
- 3-5 years of experience with the online submission process for private foundation and corporate grant submissions.
- 3-5 years of demonstrated successful experience and effectiveness in prospect identification, relationship building, solicitation, and stewardship.
- The successful candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal and organizational skills; have strong attention to detail; be goal and results-oriented; self-motivated; and possess the ability to make independent decisions. He/she must be a collaborative and team-oriented individual; demonstrate sound judgment when dealing with a wide range of relationships and situations; possess the ability to maintain enthusiasm for hard work, changing priorities, and multiple deadlines; and have the ability to interact well with a diverse community of faculty, students, and constituents.
