The Yale Office of Career Strategy (OCS) provides comprehensive career development assistance to students and alumni in Yale College, the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences, and postdoctoral scholars. The Assistant Director of Employer Relations will work closely with the Director of Employer Relations to define, develop and implement an employer outreach and engagement program. This will include identifying prospective employers, developing outreach plans, and deepening existing relationships that will lead to additional full-time and internship opportunities for Yale students and alumni.
The Assistant Director will partner with colleagues in OCS and across the University to ensure effective development of employer relationships. This may include faculty and colleagues in the Yale Alumni Association, Yale Office of Development, the professional schools, and various Yale Centers. Candidates should be comfortable developing relationships throughout Yale and with external organizations. Ability to analyze data in order to drive decisions, or make recommendations. 1. Plans, coordinates and implements programs for a particular school or college in one or more of the following areas: financial aid, career services, and/or admissions. 2. Recommends short- and long-term administrative and department goals. 3. Determines student eligibility in one or more of the following areas: federal loan programs, school grants, job placement opportunities, and/or admissions. 4. Provides guidance, advice and counseling in one or more of the following areas: academic, admissions, career, and financial matters for students, faculty and prospective students. 5. Initiates, designs and implements operational systems to maintain and monitors student records and/or applicant records. 6. Reviews and approves all written material for publication or press release. 7. Organizes workshops and on and off campus recruitment events in one or more of the following areas: career services, admissions, and/or financial aid. 8. Supervises day to day operation of services; determines priorities and maintain workflow. 9. May perform other duties as assigned. Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field and four years of experience in a related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
