THE ROLE
The Industrials Sales team is looking for an experienced candidate to join the team to cover clients trading physical base metals.
The Industrials Sales team works with a range of corporate clients across the US and Canada primarily focused on metals and energy products. Team members help strengthen client relationships across the corporate franchise by partnering with Trading, Strategists, Federation members, as well as other internal GS Sales teams. On a day-to-day basis, team members will be expected to deliver exceptional client relationship management, stay connected with market events across commodity markets, and work with the wider team to build the overall business.
Job Summary & Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships with both producers and consumers trading physical base metals
- Identifying, structuring, and executing physical purchases, sales, and intermediations with physical base metals clients
- Identifying and executing financial risk management solutions across metals client base
- Understanding commodities market fundamentals and trends and communicating information succinctly to clients
- Producing commentary ranging from a variety of client e-mails to weekly and monthly strategy performance updates
- Supporting syndication efforts by working with trading and other sales teams to identify opportunities in offsetting risk management
- Interacting with Credit, Legal and Operations teams internally to help enhance client experience and seamless trade execution
- Helping build new client relationships by working with internal teams as well as completing prospecting exercises to expand the business
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS/DEGREE AND FIELD:
- 5+ years of experience in Metals markets
- Highly motivated with drive, determination and enthusiasm to excel in a client facing role, drive commercial results and develop new business lines
- Ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities and work well under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills
- Resourcefulness and creativity in addressing new commercial opportunities
Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $150000-$300000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
