Position Summary
Provides a high level of customer service to patients. Responsible for all surgical, radiological
and testing scheduling required for the Procedure. Obtains insurance prior authorization for
procedure. Coordination of preoperative requirements with Provider, Facility and Patient.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1. Coordinates surgical procedure, with Patient, Physician and Facility. Also coordinates with
the required departments and patients, for all prior authorizations, scheduling of lab testing
and/or radiology testing. Schedules appointments for patients for clearances required based
on office, Physician and facility protocols. Provides follow up to ensure prior authorization and
appropriate testing and clearances are completed prior to procedure as required.
2. Provides the patient with all pre operative and post operative instructions ensuring their
understanding. Ensures all Scheduling and consents are completed to the appropriate facilities.
3. Coordinates surgical Schedules with Physician, Facility and Office communicating with all
entities. Ensures all documentation, clearances and labs are reviewed by Provider and the
Facility prior to procedure to ensure timely transition for the patient on the day of the procedure.
4. Schedules procedure with Facility ensuring the correct OR Room and time is scheduled as
appropriate. Orders any required equipment or third party vendors for the procedure as
required by the facility, Physician or third party entity.
5. Maintains the surgical inventory and orders as needed. Understands the complexity of each
procedure and requirements as determined by the Provider and Facility pertaining to the
Specialty. Requires comprehensive knowledge of the procedure to efficiently schedule all to
ensure maximization of OR schedules so all allotted slots are used effectively
6. Requires training for comprehensive understanding of all Procedures, Protocols for all
Providers, Facilities and third party vendors to ensure that all aspects of the surgical procedure
are fulfilled for the day of the procedure.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
