Pay: $27-$30
Summary
SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for Production Coordinator for The Greek Theatre. The Production Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and implementation of all technical stage aspects at The Greek Theatre which include, but are not limited to, electrics, audio, video, fly, crewing, logistics and preventive maintenance for all stage systems, personnel and equipment for licensees of the facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Confers with the Management Team to determine requirements of forthcoming event
- Prepare and coordinate with the event manager and client on all "back of house" and “day of show” event information
- Coordinate all backstage logistics for shows with local Stagehand Employees Union representative
- Administers policy for operation and use of building for stage shows, concerts and other similar events
- Meets with prospective clients of the facility to plan their use of the stage
- Prepare the event estimate and update the client and event file with changes in the estimate
- Oversee load-ins, set ups, show runs and strikes for all shows to include community events, rentals and national concert tours
- Supervises all stage related vendors and local stagehand crews
- Oversees shows to assure proper use of equipment and facility
- Supervises the maintenance, repair and upkeep of sound equipment, stage, electrical and mechanical systems
- Assists in the general supervision of the stagehouse during events
- Coordinate "front of house" details for specified events
- Supervise a preventative maintenance program for all venue light, sound and backstage equipment
- Recommend capital purchases or improvements to venue General Manager
- Provide for the training, safe working conditions and welfare of stage employees in accordance with SMG policies, union guidelines and applicable EEO and OSHA regulations
- Serve as Event Manager on Duty as required
- Knowledge of organization, regulations and procedures involved in operation of facility stage functions
- Ability to communicate stage requirements for various clients during events
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
- 4 year degree in stage production with technical emphasis or professional equivalence
- 1 year minimum experience working in a live performing arts venue/ center/theater
- Knowledge and experience working with union stagehand personnel
- Knowledge of operations, maintenance and stage management
- Working knowledge of applicable OSHA, state and other work environment and safety regulations
- Working knowledge of fire and public safety issues
- Prior supervisory experience preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to recognize the organization, regulations, and procedures involved in the operation of the stage functions; principles and techniques of sound reinforcement, stage mechanics, and stage management; stage requirements for various clients during shows and events; electrical and sound companies in the area for the purpose of acquiring parts and equipment
- Supervises and trains personnel in the maintenance and operation of the stage equipment; work with prospective users of the venue to plan their needs; design and execute detailed plans for stage systems upgrading and use
- Maintain effective working relationships with other employees, the public and users of the facility
- Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written
- Excellent organizational, planning and problem-solving skills
- Professional presentation, appearance and work ethic
Qualifications
- Must have attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Must have strong leadership, communication and organizational skills necessary for planning and directing coverage at events
- Must have strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, frequent changes, delays or unexpected events
- Must have the ability to train, plan, assign, and direct work and motivate union stage personnel and front-of-house personnel
- Understand and work from general instructions, specifications, blueprints, sketches and preventive maintenance schedules
- Must be able to prepare, analyze and operate within Department Budget
- Must have good computer skills
