What you will be doing in this role:Reporting to the Executive Director of Organizational Communications, the Associate Director, HR Communications, is responsible for leading strategy and communications to support Cedars-Sinai’s Human Resources (HR) portfolio. The Associate Director creates and implements a thoughtful, integrated, strategic communications program aimed at informing and engaging internal-facing audiences on key HR initiatives, announcements, messaging and more. This includes planning, evaluating and implementing employee-facing communications campaigns and identifying news, feature and messaging ideas for various internal communications channels. You will write and develop stories, collateral materials and other content for digital and print channels, and provide significant communications counsel to the HR leadership team. This individual will also be expected to assess effectiveness of campaigns through metrics and other key indicators to ensure efficacy. This individual should have strong general knowledge of HR operations, including employee engagement, recruitment, benefits, labor, diversity and inclusion, and more.
The Associate Director will work closely with HR and institutional leaders as a true team-oriented collaborator. This individual will need to demonstrate exceptional, accurate writing ability and highly effective, courteous, professional and respectful communication skills in daily interactions with physicians, nurses, staff members and others. This individual must also be able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast paced, high-volume environment with frequent interruptions. The Associate Director will be responsible for cultivating a strong system voice and culture that fosters employee and physician understanding, support and engagement, while maintaining and elevating Cedars-Sinai's positive reputation within the workforce:
- Develops and implements strategic, targeted communications and tactics for special HR projects, events and campaigns across Cedars-Sinai that support and advance the organization's brand identity and culture.
- Evaluates and implements annual communications strategic plans in conjunction with leadership in Marketing and Communications and other divisions.
- Writes, edits and produces content for a variety of formats/channels, including but not limited to: e-newsletters, email memos and announcements, digital platforms, FAQs, PPTs, talking points, scripts, and printed collateral.
- Establishes workflows to ensure that projects requested by various parties are deemed institutional priorities and reflective of Cedars-Sinai brand and voice.
- Leads and manages a team of content experts, helping to strategize, plan, review and track all written and digital communications to execution and effectively achieve departmental goals.
- Develops and maintains an understanding of breadth of HR, operational, research, clinical, teaching and community outreach programs of Cedars-Sinai and its departments, as well as other applicable priorities.
- Serve as a team resource and HR leadership team expert on communications to assure the proper and appropriate use of language, imagery, branding and design across all department managed channels.
- Manages and updates a shared file structure that organizes communications and related project management documents in a sensible, intuitive way. Works in a variety of content management systems.
- Contributes to maintaining positive office morale, even in the face of high work volume and challenging periods. Adheres to the mission and standards of behavior of Cedars-Sinai.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relation, or a related field is required.
- Eight (8) years of communications, journalism, public relations/media relations or marketing experience in health care, nonprofit institutions, higher education or other large, complex organizations required.
- Recent direct managerial experience is highly preferred.
- Experience supporting HR communications or departments and/or strong knowledge of corporate HR functions preferred.
