POSITION SUMMARY: The Content and Brand Coordinator supports the strategic communication needs of the University and key stakeholders. Through the support of social media and other communication platforms, this person is responsible for making key decisions as it relates to marketing creative direction, creating and copy writing needs for MACU social media, contributing to the Mid-American magazine, and providing photographic and editing needs on campus. The position of Content and Brand Coordinator also assists with the creative needs of other departments as well as the development, implementation, and upkeep of the Universitys Brand Guide. This position will also assist in website updates and maintenance of www.macu.edu site using the Wordpress software.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tracks and complies with all licensing agreements.
Provides assistance in the formulation and development of short-range and long-range plans related to the creative assets to support effectively the mission of the University.
Supports the Assistant Director of Strategic Communication in overseeing all creative direction and content creation for the Universitys main social media sites.
Evaluates usage patterns and re-design the allocation of resources as necessary.
Maintains stories and updates all aspects of the macu.edu website.
Maintains knowledge and understanding of current and developing trends and technology for the use of communication and marketing.
Provides creative direction for photography and video production.
Shoots, produces, and edits video needs on campus to effectively tell stories to different audiences.
Through photography, video, and design, provides creative direction and development for the communications department.
Documents all communication projects and shares information with other team members and administrators.
Proposes and evaluates processes and procedures of Marketo and other marketing functions.
Stays current on marketing trends in the area of digital marketing and graphic design.
Works directly with external graphic designers to create graphics for departments on campus.
Works in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Strategic Communications and Athletics to provide creative direction for media days.
Writes, designs, edits, and designs the Mid-American magazine.
Provides direction to external designers for the Mid-American magazine.
Creates deliverables such as signs and marketing materials for groups on campus.
Fulfills duties or tasks assigned to him or her by the Vice President.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Working familiarity with Windows operating systems.
Working familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Wordpress and Canon products.
Debugging, optimization tuning, and troubleshooting skills.
Familiarity with the academic and business processes of higher education and the interrelationships between departments, data, and systems.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Excellent understanding of the workings of social media.
Must possess strong discretion and discernment when discussing sensitive material and posting to social media.
Able to work both independently and collaboratively, and thrive in a dynamic and demanding environment.
Proven ability to manage multiple complex assignments with sensitivity to deadlines, priorities, and changing circumstances.
Demonstrated professional work ethic and positive, problem-solving attitude.
Candidates must have strong communication and organization skills. Higher Education experience is preferred. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
BS degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business (preferred); however, consideration will be given to those with 3 or more years prior experience and/or a desire to obtain a degree while at MACU.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Knowledge/experience with Wordpress and editing softwares.
