As a Research Technician II, you will work with Dr. Brian Rubin to help manage the mouse colony in his laboratory as well as the lab’s IBC and IACUC protocols and other compliance work.

The idea candidate: participates in the design, organization, and performance of daily research project activities. We are looking for a candidate with adequate cell biology and animal handling experience of two years or more. The candidate should be competent in mammalian cell culture techniques, transfection, or viral transduction to prepare stable cell lines. Animal handling experience is preferable because the candidate is required to generate allograft tumor models through the injection of cancer cells and evaluate drug treatment responses. The candidate will also collect, prepare, and maintain the required research documentation and catalog it in the electronic laboratory notebook. The research technologist will also have basic knowledge of quantitative and statistical methods to analyze the data using programs, such as Excel or Prism. The candidate will be recruited either as a research technologist or senior technologist based on research experience. Our lab is focused on elucidating the mechanisms that facilitate the progression of epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (EHE), a rare vascular cancer.

- Accumulates data from analyses, prepares charts, graphs, statistical tables for presentation to Research Staff Supervisor for final analysis and preparation for publication, grant proposals and applications for research funds.
- Potentially orders laboratory supplies and equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
