Job Description Summary
The Fitness Attendant is responsible for general supervision of the fitness center in the Randall Lewis Center for Well-Being and Research.
Specific Duties
Welcome, greet and provide assistance to facility users.
Provide safe and effective instruction on all fitness equipment.
Provide appropriate and safe assistance to individuals regarding their exercise program and/or use of equipment.
Maintain and clean exercise equipment and related spaces.
Enforce all facility rules.
Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
An understanding of strength training and cardiovascular exercise.
Ability to use and operate resistance training and cardiovascular equipment.
Good communication skills.
Excellent customer service.
Must be a ULV student.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to assist individuals in developing a safe and effective exercise program
Kinesiology major or minor or related major or experience in fitness industry.
CPR/AED certified preferred but not required at hire.
Benefits Summary
Employees are eligible for the following benefits:
One hour of Paid Sick Leave for every 30 hours worked, with a maximum accrual of 24 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year and capped at 48 hours.
University of La Verne Defined Contribution Retirement Plan – can contribute employee voluntary contributions, excluding wages derived from federal work study funds.
In accordance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), employees who work an average of 30 or more hours per week, will be eligible for medical coverage through the University of La Verne.
Covered under the University of La Verne Workers Compensation Insurance.
