What You Will Do
Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Lead the development and execution of top-side retail financial plans, including sales, margin, and inventory targets.
- Analyze financial performance, identify trends and variances, and provide actionable insights to senior management.
- Collaborate with the Merchandise Planning team and Corporate Finance to align financial plans with merchandising strategies.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Develop and manage the budgeting process for merchandise planning, ensuring alignment with overall company financial goals.
- Conduct monthly forecasting, ensuring timely updates of financial projections based on current business trends and performance metrics, driving business results and enhancing profitability.
- Provide detailed and comprehensive financial forecasts and reports to SVP+ senior management, facilitating informed decision-making processes.
Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory financial planning, ensuring optimal inventory levels to meet demand while minimizing costs.
- Analyze inventory turnover, stock levels, and sell-through rates to optimize inventory investment.
- Implement strategies to manage inventory risks and improve inventory productivity.
- Provide strategic guidance on inbound receipts to stores and supply chain organizations, aiming to optimize workload planning and expense management for enhanced efficiency.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Generate and analyze financial reports on sales performance, gross margin, inventory, and other key financial metrics.
- Utilize advanced financial planning tools and software to support data-driven decision-making.
- Present financial analysis and insights to senior management and cross-functional teams.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with Merchandise Planning, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to align financial plans with promotional activities and other key initiatives.
- Communicate financial performance and insights effectively to stakeholders across the organization.
- Support store operations and supply chain teams with financial planning and inventory management processes.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance financial planning and analysis processes.
- Implement best practices and new technologies to improve efficiency, accuracy, and financial performance.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for financial planning operations.
Skills You Will Need
Financial Acumen and Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret complex data and translate it into strategic, actionable plans.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, SUMIF, Pivot Tables, Graphs, etc.) and competence in Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access.
Knowledge of Financial Planning Tools: Familiarity with Google Cloud SQL queries, Anaplan, and OneStream is a plus.
Independent Work and Minimal Supervision: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Effective Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Organizational Skills and Attention to Detail: Excellent organizational skills and a strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Collaborative Skills: Ability to interact vertically and horizontally across the organization and work closely with cross-functional teams.

- 5+ years of experience in financial planning, analysis, or related roles, preferably within the retail industry.
- Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
- Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
