Sy-Klone International, a worldwide leader in the design and production of advanced precleaning and filtration systems, used in many applications including heavy equipment, mining, agriculture, fire and rescue, military, construction, demolition, waste, and forestry, is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join our team in Jacksonville.
The Maintenance Supervisor is a working supervisor responsible for day-to-day mechanical maintenance execution, mechanical and process troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance duties, and contract maintenance providers within all areas of the Jacksonville production facility The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee the performance, troubleshooting, maintenance, preventative maintenance and repairs of large production machinery including conveyors, palletizers, box erectors, and wrappers. They may also oversee facility repairs and needs such as electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, painting, and other building systems. Responsibility for maintaining maintenance standards, plans, stock parts and workshop while maintaining compliance with applicable policies and regulations. This position will collaborate with Engineering and Production resources to implement preventative maintenance procedures, repair manuals and work instructions, and best practices in order to maintain an optimal production environment and improve workforce productivity and safety through maintenance activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, training and support to maintenance team as well as collaboration with all internal customers.
- Hires and trains maintenance department staff. Assists with the planning and preparation of training and orientation for new maintenance team members.
- Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of maintenance staff and contractors.
- Oversees the operations of the maintenance department at a tactical and strategic level.
- Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
- Assesses building systems to plan work, propose project schedules, and recommend improvements.
- Develops maintenance procedures, schedules, work instructions and technical documents.
- Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Coordinates departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects.
- Makes necessary modifications or alteration and implements testing to ensure proper functioning and performance is achieved.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly work plans including cost generation, appropriation of materials, parts and tooling needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:
- Strong mechanical aptitude, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to plan maintenance schedules for production and building systems. Responsible for engaging and overseeing contractor and third-party work as appropriate.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Ability to train and lead others.
- Knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong prioritization and organizational skills
- Ability to interact professionally and effectively with internal and external customers. Ability to maintain good relationships with internal and external customers, use tact and diplomacy, and possess a customer service focus.
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills, negotiation skills, dispute resolution and ability to overcome obstacles.
- Demonstrated project management and analytical skills. Manage multiple priorities with efficiency and accuracy; Ability to anticipate needs and accomplish necessary tasks.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, equipment drawings, and diagrams.
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite or similar software required. Experience with CMMS software preferred.
Education and Experience:
- Associates/technical degree, journeyman certification/license, or equivalent degree or licensing preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least five years of industrial maintenance experience, including planning and supervision required.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
- Must be able to visually inspect machines and manufacturing areas, including working from heights.
- Normal auditory, visual acuity, depth perception and peripheral vision, ambulation and dexterity.
