Basic Function |
This role on the Auxiliary Operations team requires an adaptable, energetic individual with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple projects. The Auxiliary Operations Assistant will work closely with the Director of AO to support projects directly on campus and on the fringe – in the form of operations outside of the normal university scope. Attention to detail and communication skills are critical, as is the ability to work with individuals across various realms of the university. |
Essential Job Functions |
- Vehicle Fleet – Establish and implement procedures for initiating and maintaining vehicles’ titles and registrations. Work in tandem with Business Services department to ensure timely implementation or discontinuation of insurance coverage. Assist with preparing new vehicles for use and selling obsolete inventory. Generate relevant usage reports generated from the Geotab devices and/or the EFM reporting. Establish and maintain a log of repair costs, in order to advise as to when a vehicle is no longer a value to the fleet.
- Guest House – Manage reservations for, and coordinate cleaning and preparation of, Denison’s Guest House.
- Rental properties – Assist the Director of Auxiliary Operations with necessary rental property management functions and communications.
- Surplus Management – Create and maintain inventory lists for key surplus storage areas – Burton Morgan Basement, Warehouse, Storage Pods, etc. Work with the Dir. of AO to fulfill furniture needs out of the surplus. Coordinate donation of surplus items which will not be reused on campus. Work with the Dir. of AO to conduct surplus sale(s).
- Assist the Dir. of AO with the sourcing and receiving functions associated with various campus initiatives, projects or capital purchases.
- Provide support as appropriate with Denison Forward and the IDEA initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications |
Minimum High School Diploma
Relevant experience can be substituted for education.
The successful candidate will enjoy and be successful working with a broad range of people, from students to faculty to college staff to visitors. They will be pro-active, adept at managing information and responding in a timely manner to requests.
A solid functional knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products, most specifically Excel.
