New Jersey’s academic health center, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) takes an integrated approach to educating students, providing clinical care, and conducting research, all with the goal of improving human health. Aligned with Rutgers University–New Brunswick and collaborating university wide, RBHS includes eight schools, a behavioral health network, and six centers and institutes that focus on cancer treatment and research, neuroscience, clinical and translational research, advanced biotechnology and medicine, environmental and occupational health, and health care policy and aging research.

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist III for the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research.
Conducts specialized research, using judgment to adapt methods and techniques. May be responsible for the management of a small-sized laboratory area. Assists the Principal Investigator with training, data management and administrative responsibilities.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Assists in the establishment of performance standards, as well as in the selection of methodology and instrumentation.
- As assigned, carries out various technical and research operations relating to investigatory activities of the laboratory.
- May assist in organizing and conducting specialized research activities for a particular research project.
- Assists with instructing and training of students, fellows and technicians in various techniques and procedures to develop the skills necessary to carry out assignments in the laboratory assistants.
- May assist with the coordination and evaluation of non-professional staff members’ work.
- Compiles and presents statistical data with appropriate conclusions and recommendations.
- Assists in the preparation of grant applications for the funding of research activities.
