Job Summary:
The HR Generalist with Immigration Responsibilities will play a critical role in managing various human resources functions with a primary focus on immigration-related matters. This individual will work closely with employees, management, and external partners to ensure compliance with immigration laws and regulations while facilitating the smooth onboarding of visa holders for non-compensated employees, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and positive onboarding experience for volunteers, interns, or other non-compensated individuals joining our organization. Your responsibilities will include guiding these individuals through the onboarding process, providing necessary information and support, and facilitating their integration into our organizational culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end immigration process for employees, including visa applications, extensions, and renewals.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding immigration inquiries and provide guidance on visa requirements and processes.
- Liaise with external legal counsel to ensure accurate and timely submission of immigration documents and petitions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of immigration laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Partner with hiring managers and recruiters to facilitate the immigration process for prospective employees.
- Coordinate with internal departments, such as Legal, Compliance, and Payroll, to ensure alignment on immigration-related matters.
- Prepare and maintain immigration-related documentation, including forms, records, and reports.
- Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with immigration laws and regulations.
- Assist in developing immigration policies, procedures, and best practices to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Stay abreast of changes in immigration policies and proactively communicate updates to relevant stakeholders within the organization.
11. Coordinate new hire onboarding activities, including orientation sessions and completion of necessary paperwork.
- Interpret and enforce HR policies and procedures consistently across the organization.
- Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance in all HR-related activities.
- Maintain HRIS (Human Resources Information System) databases and personnel files, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
- Generate HR reports and analytics to support decision-making processes and provide insights into HR metrics.
- Develop and implement an onboarding process tailored specifically for non-compensated employees, including volunteers and interns.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure that all necessary paperwork, training materials, and resources are available for onboarding.
- Conduct orientation sessions to familiarize non-compensated employees with our organization's mission, values, policies, and procedures.
- Serve as the main point of contact for non-compensated employees throughout the onboarding process, addressing their questions, concerns, and needs.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to help non-compensated employees acclimate to their roles and responsibilities.
- Collaborate with HR and relevant departments to assess the effectiveness of the onboarding process and make recommendations for enhancements.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field required; advanced degree preferred or 6 plus years in Human Resources
· Minimum of 3 years of experience in immigration administration or related field.
· In-depth knowledge of immigration laws and regulations, including visa types, work permits, and residency requirements.
· Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
· Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.

Previous experience in onboarding, training, or volunteer management is highly desirable.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.

Salary: $82,866-$94,090
