Job Summary
Engages with industry partners, students, and equipment manufacturers for the development of the Entrepreneurial Manufacturer Digitization Support (EMDiS) Center, Industry Solutions Center (ISC). Focused on applied research and prototyping for industry clients and training for students and incumbent workers in support of industry-funded projects through CSU’s EMDiS Center. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 3 years’ work experience or Associate’s degree in Engineering or closely related field with 10 years’ experience in smart manufacturing and direct work with machine tools (design and/or operation).
Working knowledge of Industry 4.0 /smart manufacturing, including data acquisition, machine learning, data analytics, and automation in a plant-manufacturing setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in mechanical, industrial, or electrical engineering.
Five (5) years of experience in smart manufacturing and direct work with machine tools i.e., design and/or operation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Working knowledge of Industry 4.0/smart manufacturing, including Internet of Things (IoT), data acquisition, machine learning, data analytics, and automation in a plant-manufacturing environment.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Competency in a range of machining and manufacturing processes, design software and machinery monitoring platforms.
Knowledge of machining and manufacturing processes as well as design software and machinery monitoring platforms.
Ability to build and maintain professional relationships and work as an individual contributor and an effective team player, in addition be self-directed, and forward-thinking.
Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines and tackle emergencies and difficult situations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
