•Coordinates utilization management efforts for CPMT/FAPT (Community Policy & Management Team and Family Assessment & Planning Team).
•Determines appropriate methods to monitor utilization management and to document services to achieve maximum reimbursement and reduce/delay reimbursement, chargebacks or fines.
•Provides direct oversight to all aspects of copayment collections.
•Coordinates and provides training to case managers from Department of Social Services, court services unit, schools, Community Services Board, and Health Department; researches policy and determines appropriate method of presentation for maximum effect on accurate case management decisions; prepares and distributes training and promotional materials.
•Acts as designated CANS (Child and Adolescent Needs & Strengths) super user for the county and provides feedback to CPMT, case managers, and external stakeholders on trends and potential challenges/opportunities indicated in the data.
•Facilitates meetings of Family Assessment & Planning Teams; coordinates/mediates meetings; reviews/edits meeting minutes.
•Administers and monitors grants for funding and administration of programs; prepares grant proposals to fund/enhance prevention, rehabilitative and case management services for at-risk children and families; reviews grant proposals.
•Attends meetings of CSA coordinators and submits reports to CPMT/FAPT.
•Prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, annual CSA reports, policy statements, grant proposals, charts, graphs, pamphlets, flyers, banners, mileage expense forms, or other documents.
•Receives various forms, reports, correspondence, surveys, budget reports, FAPT/CPMT meeting minutes, medical books, codes, policies, procedures, manuals, directories, reference materials, or other documentation; reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate.
•Submits monthly, quarterly, and annual data to OCS (Office of Comprehensive Services) as required by state policy.
•Provides oversight for CSA data set to ensure accurate records are maintained.
•Provides supervision to CSA Office Assistants in all aspects of CSA including but not limited to purchase order processing, invoice processing, resolving vendor issues, and coordinating service provision.
•Provides supervision to IVE eligibility worker regarding program eligibility determination and ensures expenditures are appropriate to program requirements.
•Authorizes IVE expenditures and approves case work.
•Authorizes case actions for foster care maintenance and clothing allowances.
•Coordinates with agency supervisors regarding cross unit processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness while identifying areas to improve efficiency.
•Works directly with state and local auditors for both IVE and CSA; completes and submits corrective action reports for IVE and CSA as necessary to resolve any findings.
•Conducts IVE foster care and adoption reconciliations bi-annually.
•Communicates with County finance office regularly.
•Operates a computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data; utilizes word processing, spreadsheet, database, desktop publishing, e-mail, Internet, or other computer programs; performs basic maintenance of computer system and office equipment, such as backing up data or replacing paper, ink, or toner.
•Communicates with supervisor, employees, other departments, county officials, team members, state/federal agencies, granting/funding agencies, community organizations, the public, outside agencies, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, resolve problems, or give/receive advice/direction.
•Maintains confidentiality of departmental issues and documentation.
•Maintains a comprehensive, current knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, policies, or other guidelines; reads professional literature; maintains professional affiliations; attends workshops and training sessions.
•Operates a motor vehicle to conduct work activities.
•Performs general/clerical tasks, which may include answering telephone calls, typing documents, making copies, sending/receiving faxes, filing documentation, or processing incoming/outgoing mail.
•Provides assistance to other employees or departments as needed.
•Performs other related duties as required.
Bachelor's Degree in Sociology, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, or closely related field; supplemented by five (5) years of previous experience and/or training that includes human service delivery systems, work with at-risk population, counseling, program/project coordination, grant writing, training or public speaking, and personal computer operations, with at least one of those years in a supervisory capacity; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Must possess and maintain a valid Virginia driver's license.
