- SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of Support Services is responsible for the following RTC Program operations:
- Maintains the interior and exterior of all building and grounds in all seasons.
- Provides for 24 hour coverage for the boiler plant, HVAC systems and facility mechanical equipment.
- Supervises the Maintenance Department, the Maintenance Chief, Groundkeeper, Maintenance staff and housekeeping.
- Develops, evaluates and maintains computerized Preventative Maintenance Program.
- Ensures appropriate amount and safe condition and cleanliness of buildings including furniture. and cleanliness of all buildings.
- Ensures the performance, condition, and reliability of all plumbing mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure efficient operations of all equipment/appliances.
- Develops, implements and maintains written maintenance policies and procedures to ensure efficient operations vehicles, inventory of supplies
- Assures outside services, vendors are properly completed/supervised in accordance with contracts and work orders
- Conducts monthly assessment of facilities to identify needed improvement and repairs.
- Responds to identified needed repairs with a quick response time within a week.
- Schedules required major equipment purchases, remodeling and all projects as assigned.
- Purchases equipment and supplies as necessary or as may be required
- Maintains an inventory of required household supplies paper products, cleaning supplies, to maintain and personal items for residents
- Fleet Manager for RTC vehicles acts as liaison with Business Operations for these purposes.
- Reviews and processes billing from contractors, and suppliers for accuracy, seeks approvals for payment.
- Plans coordinates and carries out all fire drills in all building in accordance with State Fire Regulations.
- Ensures all staff actively participates in fire safety and disaster preparedness drills in a safe and professional manner. Required annual fires safety training is offered to all staff.
- Ensures all staff attend and participate in relevant training programs established by and OSHA guidelines
- Serves as an active member of Quality Improvement Committee and Safety Committee
- Maintains telecommunication systems and acts as primary contact for all service and maintenance
- Maintain list of authorized Agency drivers
- Monitor and maintain Agency Pool: contacting pool company, ordering and maintaining chemicals, arranging for Lifeguard coverage and maintenance of the pool.
- Oversight of Kitchen and outside food service billing for food
- Bi-weekly Payroll for Maintenance Workers and Housekeepers
- Updating and implementing fire safety evacuation plans. Devising evacuation routes for all buildings
- Managing petty cash account for the program
- Kitchen: Supervisor when there is no outside Food Service. Formal liaison when there is an
Outside Food Service
- QUALIFICATIONS
Experience required: Experience in Plant management, supplies and supervision in a Residential Program
Education: High School Diploma, Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
Special Skills: Basic Computer knowledge (Wood Processor, Data Base, etc.) Writing and paper skills.

- WORKING CONDITIONS
35 hours per week, with flexible hour
- SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
RTC-wide responsibilities, with occasional Agency responsibilities, as needed
Any assignments deemed appropriate and necessary to the functioning of the Department.
