Rider University’s Department of Performing Arts seeks a (adjunct) Stage Management specialist to teach Stage Management, in person, starting Fall, 2024.
Responsibilities include: Teaching industry-specific terminology, transferrable skills and best practices in Stage Management to undergraduate (BFA and BA) students of Theatre and Musical Theatre, in person, at Rider’s Lawrenceville NJ campus. Course meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 AM-1:00 PM September 6-December 15, 2024. Separately-compensated opportunities to teach/advise individual student stage managers for mainstage productions may also be explored.
Position Requirements
Advanced degree in Theatre or related discipline with emphasis, or distinct degree, in Stage Management. Commensurate professional Stage Management experience will otherwise be considered.
Minimum three years’ demonstrated professional Stage Management experience
Position Preferred Qualifications/Experience
MFA in Theatre with emphasis in, or distinct MFA in Stage Management, preferred
Demonstrated teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred
